Great for beginners. Buy refurbished. Buy body only. As a beginner camera, it’s hard to go wrong with this one. Buying refurbished was also a great experience. Don’t be afraid of the refurbished label, it’s pretty much brand new. New buyers, please do heavily consider buying refurbished or used equipment. Buying new often drains you of your money. Even if you’re buying photography equipment as a gift for someone else, buying used/refurbished is still a good idea. I have now taken about 7,000 pictures since obtaining this camera 3 months ago and it’s been a great experience as a beginner photographer.I personally bought the bundle that includes the 18-55 and the 55-200 lens. Despite the 5 star rating, I would heavily suggest for anyone to just buy the body and then a better. I would personally recommend using the Nikon 35mm 1.8G DX lens. Has a microphone jack, takes outstanding photos and video When I decided to upgrade my camera to a DSLR I knew I wanted it to have an external microphone jack to add a condenser microphone for when I was doing video recording. This relatively simple feature proved not to be on many cameras, so when I spotted the D3300 at a local store I was thrilled to find it had one! This D3300 on Amazon is a refurbished unit that ships with two lenses. It has a rechargable Lithium ion battery that takes about 50 minutes to fully charge, and using the LCD to preview shots taken at the highest stettings and take ‘live view’ photos, you can take about 300 photos on one charge.————What I like about this camera…+ Easy to use in ‘Guide Mode’ which is ideal for beginners.+ Simple setup: format card, charge battery, connect lens and go!+ Lightweight, yet very good build quality.+ 3″ LCD is easy to see and has user-friendly interface.+ Battery life is good…
