Talk about zooming power!
All things considered, this was a Great Deal! The Canon PowerShot, is flat out an awesome camera. I’m a photographer, and I usually reserve all of my important pictures for my SLR. However, sometimes I just don’t want to take the expensive camera out, and lug around all of the accessories and lenses. Therefore I bought this camera.I originally purchased the SX520 model, which is essentially the same camera as the SX530, but with a 42x Optical lens vs. a 50x. Everything else is exactly the same. So what it really comes down to is 42x Optical zoom vs. 50x Optical zoom, which both are awesome considering the Optical Image Stabilized technology that accompanies it. The two models are a few dollars different in price. If you don’t need the extra 8x optical zoom, go with the SX520 model and save a few dollars. Nice camera, but I still prefer the SX50 I purchased this to replace my SX50, which had developed a shutter release issue over the last year and thought it would cost more to replace than I wanted to invest. I used the camera for several days and was a bit disappointed. It just wasn’t my SX50, and I ended up sending this one back and getting the SX50 repaired. (Canon didn’t have the parts to repair it so they sent a replacement, for the standard repair fee of $96.30, plus my cost of $11.50 to ship it to them.)
